HARRISBURG, PA - Penn State Hershey Medical Center, a 551-bed academic health center based in Hershey, Pa., has selected HealthPay24 to support the impending roll-out of a new, web-based patient payment portal to increase collections (of current and prior balances) and improve the patient engagement process.
According to Dan Fuhrmann, Vice President of Business Development at HealthPay24, Penn State Hershey employs multiple billing systems to manage patient account balances generated from its hospital and physician clinics – making it essential for HealthPay24 to seamlessly integrate the billing process in order to provide patients access all account balances.
By utilizing HealthPay24’s Online Payment Center (OPC), patients will now have the ability to securely view hospital and physician account balances and payment history, as well as handle payment on all outstanding account balances via echeck or credit card. “The HealthPay24 platform expressly accommodates health systems such as Penn State Hershey Medical Center that employ multiple patient accounting systems,” Furhmann said.
“Specifically, HealthPay24 easily integrates patient account balances that may reside on multiple billing systems into one, user-friendly portal and then automatically posts payments back to the appropriate systems.”
